Monchique Hills

Nearest Cities
- Portimão (15 minutes) - is a typical Portuguese city, which forms part of the District of Faro, region and sub region of the Algarve. With approximately 36.000 residents, its city center is situated within 2 km of the sea, namely Praia da Rocha which is considered an important fishing and tourism center.
- Silves (20 minutes) – this city was once the chief city of the Algarve and retains much of its former charm in the streets of the old "almedina", which are still laid out as they were in medieval times. The picturesque charm of houses surrounded by almond and carob trees, the deep green foliage of orange trees in fertile valleys, the blue sea and the biggest castle in the Algarve are some of the reasons to visit this historical city.
Nearest Beaches
- Extensive arm of sand protected by the Dunes, Praia da Rocha is internationally known as the visiting card of Portimão.
- Alvor Beach is best characterised by its division between the Ocean and Ria do Alvor, which consists of a large areal and it’s interior lagoon, and calm water channels.
- Porto Covo, Pessegueiro Island, Vila Nova de Milfontes, Odeceixe, Zambujeira do Mar, Arrifana, are old fishing towns located in the Aletentejo coast, 70kms north of Monchique, direction Lisbon. This area has been a favourite among visitors, since it still maintains its beautiful beaches perfect for many water sports.
Golf
- Morgado and Álamos golf courses - Set in a natural environment and close to the Monchique Hills and the beautiful touristic city of Portimão, this golf course is most characteristic of the Algarve.
